X-Men Apocalypse: Latest trailer reinforces the need to fight following Apocalypse’s awakening

Ahead of X-Men Apocalypse’s release next Wednesday at UK cinemas, 20th Century Fox have released another action packed teaser trailer ahead of the film’s release. This trailer packs plenty of destruction, explosions, fight scences and is interlaced with interview snippets from Olivia Munn (Psylocke) and Alexandra Shipp (Storm).

The trailer titled, To Fight, once again reinforces the danger that Apocalypse (Oscar Issac) will leave in his wake following his awakening, the whole world is now at stake and the only thing that stands between mankind and Apocalypse are the untrained and untested X-Men of Xavier’s Academy.

Only under the guidance and training of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) will the young mutants be able to stand a chance in holding back Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen from destroying all of humanity, mutantkind and everything we love and care about this planet we call earth. Although we do have it on good authority that the newest generation of X-Men won’t be truly alone in thwarting the impending apocalypse.

About X-Men Apocalypse:

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Directed by Bryan Singer, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is produced by Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker and Lauren Shuler Donner.

Personally I’m super excited to see this film when it lands next week, Bryan Singer has done wonders for the X-Men series as a whole and with this films focus on utter destruction, I’m sure we will be in for some visually stunning action scenes. Plus I can’t get over how much Apocalypse (Oscar Issac) sounds like Immortan Joe in the trailers and I’m curious to see if that extends across the entire film.

Let us know if you’ll be heading out to see this next week and what your expectations of the latest installment to the X-Men franchise are?

X-Men Apocalypse will be released in cinemas and IMAX across the UK & Ireland on the 18th May.
