World of Warcraft: Legion’s pre-patch will be released July 19th
That’s right the Burning Legion will begin invading Azeroth from July 19th as the World of Warcraft: Legion pre-expansion patch arrives. The pre-expansion patch will be live in the Americas and Oceania on July 19th and will arrive July 20th for European regions.
With a pre-expansion patch such as this, there are lots of major changes coming to the game alongside some new content in the build up to World of Warcraft: Legion’s actual release date on the 30th of August 2016.
The biggest and most important changes that are set to come in just a few days are to your classes. All of the major retooling, rebalancing and class theming of the classes wil become active once the pre-patch is available. For many classess this means major changes to how they use their resources, their rotation and without doubt a complete respec of their talent trees. For the heads up on the upcoming class changes, check out Wowhead’s class guides below:
Following the pre-expansion patch we will also have access to the new transmogrification system. This will be in the form of the new Wardrobe tab in the collections panel and much like heirlooms, once you’ve learnt an armor or weapon style once, you’ll always have access to it for transmog purpose. No longer will you need to hoard onto loot for transmog in the future because as soon as you’ve equipped the item once, you’ll forever be able to transmog to that for life, even if you vendored it!
A nice addition to the new wardrobe tab is that all armor and weapons previously gained through any and all quests you’ve completed on any of your characters will all be instantly available in the wardrobe features once patch day hits, and even better all transmog items will now be account wide.
While there are masses of changes coming to the game in the pre-patch such as quality of life changes and the removal of the moose mount form killing Archimonde on heroic, the above two are the biggest and most important. As mentioned at the beginning of the article the new patch will also bring new content to the game (and thank fuck, because screw garrisons).
While the dates for the new pre-patch content going live aren’t confirmed yet they will all be coming in the next few weeks and in the lead up to the the August 30th release of Legion. Players can expect to see the following soon:
Burning Legion Invasions
Before all hellfire breaks loose upon the Broken Shore, the Burning Legion will begin its assault upon Azeroth, turning some familiar stomping grounds into demon-infested battlefields—and it will be up to the heroes of the Alliance and the Horde to face the onslaught.
Demon Hunter Early Access
In the weeks before launch, those who have pre-purchased Legion will get early access to the new Demon Hunter class. Players will begin at level 98 and will find themselves on the fel-shattered expanse of Mardum, where they’ll play the Demon Hunter starting experience before joining their allies in the fight against the Legion.
The Battle on the Broken Shore Begins
As the situation grows more dire, Azeroth’s heroes will begin their first foray onto the Broken Shore—the epicenter of the demonic invasion.
With the exception of Demon Hunter early access, all World of Warcraft players will be able to experience the new content and changes in this pre-patch without having to purchase the Legio expansion.
