Space Jam 2 is confirmed with LeBron James to star and Justin Lin to possibly direct
The sequel to Space Jam is officially happening and we couldn’t be more happy! The original Space Jam was released in 1996 and saw the Looney Tunes and Michael Jordan competing against aliens in a surreal basketball match to decide the fate of the Bugs Bunny and the gang.
LeBron James is set to star in the sequel in a currently an undisclosed role, but it’s an educated guess he will be playing the role of Michael Jordan in Space Jam 2. While we’re on the the notion of educated guesses, I’d bet a good amount of money that the sequel will see the greedy aliens coming back to earth for a rematch to once again decide the fate of the Looney Tunes. We can only hope that Michael Jordan appears in a cameo role and that the Looney Tunes remain 2d animated as they did in the first – CGI would be an awful mistake.
Justin Lin is currently being circled to direct the film, while he hasn’t signed any contracts yet the overall feeling is that he will helm the sequel. Justin Lin is currently putting the finishing touches to Star Trek Beyond and we imagine we will hear more regarding production and Justin Lin’s involvment after Star Trek Beyond is all wrapped up.
