South Park: The Fractured but Whole now has a gameplay trailer for fans throughout the world to enjoy. This is one game that we here at The Nerd Recites have been especially looking forward to, and December 6th cannot come soon enough. From what we have seen so far, the humour seems absolutely on point, and we are already laughing so hard at the little footage we have actually seen.

The story revolves around a disagreement between our favourite South Park heroes on how best to formulate a movie franchise using their alter-egos. As the group splits, Cartman obviously sees his group as Marvel, and declares Stan’s as DC. We can determine that Cartman’s faction consists of the man himself, as well as Jimmy, Butters, Kyle, Clyde, and Craig; while Stan is with Kenny, Token, and Tweek. It remains to be seen which side the countless other children of South Park choose, or inevitably how the adults fit into the story (we can’t wait to see Randy Marsh’s involvement).

Just as with The Stick of Truth, The Fractured but Whole will feature a mute protagonist, and a completely customisable character, again, a new kid that has unwittingly found himself thrust into the deranged world of South Park. Players will be able to select one of four classes – Brutalist, Blaster, Speedster, and ???. Right now, the fourth is unknown, but if The Stick of Truth is anything to go by, it will be completely out of the blue, with The Stick of Truth‘s classes being: Fighter, Mage, Thief, and Jew. Narrated by Cartman, the players, as well as the remaining Coon and Friends, learn the New Kid’s origin story, an origin story that you’d expect from this hilarious franchise.

Building off the great foundations of the first game, the sequel has made a number of additions to the way we will play the game, or example, in terms of combat, players are no longer fixed to one location, having been granted the ability to move around for possible tactical advantages.  In addition to this, the New Kid once again has mystical fart powers, with the farts here being so powerful that they can actually rip the fabric of time itself!

Unleash the power of your farts!

Unleash the power of your farts!

For those of you who have not yet played South Park: The Stick of Truth (how?), you will be pleased to know that if you purchase The Fractured but Whole, you will receive The Stick of Truth completely free of charge. A very fair deal, if you ask us.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be released on PC, PS4, and XBox One on Tuesday, 6th December 2016.
