Rick and Morty season 3 premiered last night and it’s not a joke

For months, the showrunners of Rick and Morty Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have been playing with us fans about the release date of the new season, without actually saying anything substantial apart from countless jokes; the Adult Swim YouTube account even promised us a new look at season 3, only to Rick-Roll us and showing us a clip put together from old footage of the show and forming the lyrics of ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’. Dan Harmon also made a rap about it. Talk about artistic integrity.

This time, however, and on the April Fools day no less, the first episode of Rick and Morty season three was released, out of the blue, on Adult Swim, and many fans refused to believe it. And yet it was true, and Harmon actually hinted at it on Twitter a few hours before it happened:

If you’re a US citizen, you can stream the episode here. If not, you may or may not catch it on Cartoon Network at some point.

On top of that, a short new teaser was released, featuring Pickle Rick, which you can see here:

The third season should be released in full this Summer though, so the wait is not as long as it was by now.
