Premiere date announced for The Walking Dead season 8
The march to All Out War officially kicks off on The Walking Dead just ahead of Halloween, as season 8 of the series is set to air in the US on Sunday, October 22nd and globally on FOX the following evening. This season sees Rick’s group reband to join forces with friendly communities against Negan and the Saviors in hopes of getting out from under their control once and for all. The season premiere also marks the 100th episode of the series.
AMC is headed to San Diego Comic-Con this coming Saturday and will feature a panel of the cast and crew discussing the new season. It is also expected that the network will release the first official trailer for the season at the event. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple recently told EW the following about what fans can expect:
“We have basically set the stage for All Out War,” says Gimple. “Negan’s said it, everybody has seen they’re in it. It will play out quickly and propulsively and attentively and will shift around the focus quite a bit between the different places and battlegrounds and characters and communities.”
In the meantime check out the brand new poster teasing the new season:
As with previous seasons, the 8th installment of The Walking Dead includes 16 episodes beginning on October 22nd in the US and globally on the 23rd.
