Nintendo has announced a miniature version of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) that we all grew up with including 30 class NES games such as Mario Bros., Ice Climber and more.

The new miniature verson of the classic eighties gaming system will hit stores Novemeber 11th ensuring it will be a Christmas hit for many. Adults who grew up with this classic console will now be able to relive their childhood on a modern and more reliable version of the console they (probably) first started gaming on. No more struggling with the reality of how upscaling games on the original system to HD would look horrendous as the new console comes packaged with a HDMI and presumably, correct and crisp upscaling of classics such as Castlevania.

This would also make an excellent gift for children of all ages, admittedly I’m pretty psyched about sitting down with my nephew to play Super Mario Bros., it’s going to be a fun holiday season.

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System comes packaged with an HDMI cable, a USB cable for powering the system, and one Nintendo Classic Mini: NES Controller. To play the games that allow multiplayer, users will have to buy another Nintendo Classic Mini: NES Controller. At the time of publishing we have no information on pricing just yet.

The titles included with the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System are:

  • Balloon Fight
  • Castlevania™
  • Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest™
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Dr. Mario
  • Excitebike
  • Galaga™
  • Ice Climber
  • Kid Icarus
  • Kirby’s Adventure
  • Mario Bros.
  • MEGA MAN™ 2
  • Metroid
  • PAC-MAN™
  • Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
  • StarTropics
  • SUPER C™
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario Bros. 2
  • Super Mario Bros. 3

The Nintendo Classic Mini: NES Controller can also be used to play Virtual Console NES games on a Wii U or Wii console.
