Netflix’s upcoming supernatural thriller Stranger Things gets a new featurette and poster

Set in the 1980’s, Stranger Things a Netflix  original series, centers around a mother searching for her son after he disappears under mysterious circumstances. The series will span 8 episodes, all of which will debut on July 15th. The shows is described by the network as follows:

Set in Hawkins Indiana in the 1980’s, Stranger Things chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly suspicious circumstances. His mother (Winona Ryder) opens an investigation into the boy’s disappearance with local authorities that unravels a series of mysteries involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. A love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the 80’s, Stranger Things is a coming of age story for three boys that draws this quaint community into a world where mysteries lurk beneath the surface.

Who is Eleven, exactly? This character, played by Millie Bobby, is explored in this new featurette.  Producers Matt and Ross Duffer have the following to offer:

There’s this wonderous thing with her, she has these special abilities. She’s scary because we don’t know exactly what she’s capable of. There’s also this fear of…”If she can do these things with her mind, what can she do to me?”

The series stars actress Winona Ryder in her first leading role for television. Supporting cast includes David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine. Serving as writers, directors, and co-showrunners are Matt and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines, Hidden). Shawn Levy also serves as director

The trailer for this new series takes us on a nostalgic journey, and is reminiscent of films such as E.T., The Goonies, Stand By Me, and The Explorers to name a few. Check it out below:

  1. This looks amazing, I actually auditioned for this show and didn’t make it, but I am glad to see what it looks like on screen. Interstellar mixed with some actual alien stuff ? Cannot wait !
