Netflix releases a chilling new trailer for it’s upcoming original series Stranger Things

Netflix has released a new trailer for their upcoming original series, Stranger Things. The supernatural period drama is set in a small town the 1980’s about the search for a young boy who goes missing under mysterious circumstances. Made up of mostly new footage, this chilling trailer has some stellar E.T. vibes, and puts much of it’s focus on the comrades of the missing boy in their desperate search for their friend. In addition, the trailer also showcases some spectacular looking special effects. Furthermore, we get a much closer look at a character called Eleven, a strange young girl with seemingly otherworldly powers. While the original trailer was intriguing, this one is entirely captivating and leaves us in eager anticipation for a binge session when all 8 episodes debut on July 15th.

Netflix offers an official description as follows:

A love letter to the ’80s classics that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.


Winona Ryder stars in her first leading role for television, with David Harbour as Chief Hopper and Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven. Additional cast includes Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine. Serving as writers, directors, and co-showrunners are Matt and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines, Hidden). Shawn Levy also serves as director.


The series will span 8 episodes, all of which will debut on July 15th in typical Netflix fashion.
