Marvel’s The Defenders unite in new SDCC 2017 trailer and Iron Fist season 2 confirmed

The second trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders was revealed at SDCC 2017, showing Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist unite for the very first time. The Netflix original series consists of of 8 episodes and stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, and Sigourney Weaver.

In related new, Marvel also confirmed that Iron Fist will be returning for a second season.

Numerous characters from the previous Marvel Netflix shows are to be featured in The Defenders, including Claire Temple, Misty Knight, Stick, Elektra, and Punisher, among others. The new trailer offers previously unreleased footage and looks to be an action packed adventure for the unlikely quartet.

The series synopsis:

Blind ninja. Smart-ass detective. Bulletproof ex-con. Kung Fu billionaire. Marvel’s The Defenders centers on four outsider heroes that have to put aside their personal issues and come together when a villainous sect threatens to destroy New York City as we know it.

Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) and Doug Petrie (Daredevil) are executive producers along with Drew Goddard (Daredevil, The Martian), Jeph Loeb (Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage) and Jim Chory (Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage).

Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

The Defenders will launch on Netflix globally on August 18, 2017.
