Marvel’s Iron Fist and The Defenders Comic-Con teasers, plus Daredevil season 3 confirmed

In addition to a new teaser trailer for Marvel’s Luke Cage, Netflix and Marvel Television have revealed the first teasers for their upcoming collaborations, Iron Fist and The Defenders. Both series are expected to debut on the streaming service in 2017. In addition, it was also confirmed that Daredevil has been renewed for a 3rd season, though no specific date has been announced.

Iron Fist is slated for 13 episodes, with an official synopsis as follows: Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Actor Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) will portray Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist. Other cast members include David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey  as Joy and Ward Meachum, and Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise her role as Jeri Hogarth.

The Defenders is expected to have 8 episodes, and will unite the Man Without Fear with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist for the mini-series event bringing our heroes together to face their biggest threat yet.

The series will star Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones, all reprising their roles as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, respectively. Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez will (Daredevil season 2) will serve as showrunners, with Drew Goddard (Daredevil season 1, The Martian, Lost) returning as executive producer.

“This is the big one. Four amazing casts, four amazing series, now all in one amazing story,” said Executive Producers Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez in a press release. “We are thrilled at the opportunity to deliver the show that both we and the fans have been waiting for.”

Release dates for Jessica Jones season 2, and The Punisher have not yet been announced.
