LEGO unveils new Beauty and the Beast BrickHeadz sets

LEGO have just unveiled on Twitter, that new Beauty and the Beast BrickHeadz will be arriving in March based on the original animated film.

LEGO BrickHeadz are the LEGO Group’s attempt to take on the collectible vinyl model market that has sprung up around Funko POP!, Dorbz and related products.

All of the previously announced BrickHeadz share a similar style to the newly announced Belle and Beast ones. The previously announced BrickHeadz, featuring Avengers and the LEGO Batman Movie characters are due for release March 1st, perhaps then these Beauty and the Beast ones will be a part of that same release.

You can view the announcement tweet below along with full sized images of the Beauty and the Beast BrickHeadz at the end of this article.

Following the success of the Disney minifigure series it only made sense that we would see Disney builds enter the BrickHeadz theme. One can only wonder how long we will have to wait for Star Wars characters to arrive.

It’s a sigh of relief that they’ve based the BrickHeadz on the original animated film and not the new live-action film, I don’t feel the characters and look would have translated well to this style of LEGO set.

Have a look below at the full-sized BrickHeadz images and let us know your thoughts? On a whole I’m rather neutral about these new inclusions, but I do have to point out that Belle’s skin colour looks odd to me.

The first wave of LEGO BrickHeadz are due for release March 2017, have an RRP of £9.99 and will be available to purchase from the LEGO store here.
