Over the past week we have shared the news that The X-Files will be returning to FOX for 10 episodes, as well as new images from HBO’s highly anticipated 7th season of Game of Thrones. Below you will find the following updates:

The first official trailer for Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger coming to Freeform, new key art from season 3 of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, season 3 trailer for Outlander, Joe Hill’s Locke & Key comic being adapted as a pilot for Hulu, and 3 of The Walking Dead cast members are promoted to series regulars.

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger official trailer

Next year will see 10 episodes of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger coming to Freeform, and the first official trailer has been released. The series features former Disney Channel star and Hollywood Records recording artist Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph (The Night Of, Run All Night) will star as Tandy Bowen, a.k.a. Dagger, and Tyrone Johnson, a.k.a. Cloak. Additional cast includes with Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito, and J.D. Evermore.  Joe Pokaski (Heroes) will serve as showrunner for the series, which is based on the Marvel comic of the same name. The synopsis:

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is a coming-of-age series based on the beloved Marvel characters.  Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. Once a privileged little girl, Tandy Bowen watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life. Now in her late teens, an unexpected encounter with a boy named Tyrone sparks a life changing event. Young Tyrone Johnson wanted nothing more than to prove he was fearless. But when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid. Now older and more sheltered, Tyrone closes himself off. But when he meets a girl named Tandy his life changes forever.

Cloak and Dagger is expected to air on Freeform in winter of 2018.


Fear the Walking Dead key art revealed

Ahead of it’s season 3 premiere this summer, AMC have released key art for Fear the Walking Dead. The series stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Lorenzo James Henri, Mercedes Mason, and Ruben Blades, with the official season 3 synopsis reading as follows:

As Fear the Walking Dead returns for season three, our families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent region formerly known as the U.S.-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world’s end, our characters must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well. Madison has reconnected with Travis, her apocalyptic partner, but Alicia has been fractured by her murder of Andres. Madison’s son is only a few miles from his mother, but Nick’s first action as a leader saw him and Luciana ambushed by an American militia group – the couple escaped death, Luciana was shot, and Nick no longer feels immortal. Recovering both emotionally and physically, Strand has his sights set on harnessing the new world’s currency, and Ofelia’s captivity will test her ability to survive and see if she can muster the savagery of her father.

Fear the Walking Dead season 3 premieres June 4th on AMC.


Outlander season 3 trailer

Based on the third book in Diana Gabaldon’s acclaimed series, Outlander returns to Starz for season 3 this fall. Starring Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Gary Lewis, Graham McTavish, Duncan Lacroix, and Lotte Verbeek, the third season has the following synopsis:

In Season Three of Outlander, the story picks up right after Claire travels through the stones to return to her life in 1948. Now pregnant, she struggles with the fallout of her sudden reappearance and its effect on her marriage to her first husband, Frank. Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie suffers from the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the historic battle of Culloden, as well as the loss of Claire. As the years pass, Jamie and Claire attempt to make a life apart from one another, each haunted by the memory of their lost love. The budding possibility that Claire can return to Jamie in the past breathes new hope into Claire’s heart… as well as new doubt. Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other. As always, adversity, mystery, and adventure await them on the path to reunion. And the question remains: when they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?

Outlander season 3 premieres in September on Starz.


Locke & Key given a pilot order at Hulu

According to Deadline, IDW comic Locke & Key has been granted a pilot order for Hulu. Adapted as a one hour horror/fantasy drama, Locke & Key will be adapted from the Joe Hill (The Fireman) and artist Gabriel Rodriguez (Little Nemo) comic of the same name. The project comes from a script written by Hill, with Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel, The Strain) serving as showrunner, and Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) on board to direct.

Locke & Key revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.

The Walking Dead promotes 3 cast members to series regulars

Ahead of it’s 8th season, AMC have promoted 3 of it’s cast members. THR have reported that Steven Ogg (Simon), Katelyn Nacon (Enid) and Pollyanna McIntosh (Jadis), who have all played recurring roles in recent seasons, have been added to the extensive cast of regulars. They bring the total number of series regulars to 19, joining Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Melissa McBride (Carol), Lennie James (Morgan), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Alanna Masterson (Tara), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel), Ross Marquand (Aaron), Austin Amelio (Dwight), Tom Payne (Jesus), Xander Berkeley (Gregory) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).

Season 8 of The Walking Dead will consist of 16 episodes is expected to air this October on AMC.
