Jurassic World sequel gets an official title and teaser poster
The upcoming sequel for Jurassic World has been granted an official title of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The film sees Jeff Goldblum reprising his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm from the original franchise, joining stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard who are reprising their roles from Jurassic World. Additional cast includes Justice Smith, James Cromwell, BD Wong, Ted Levine, Rafe Spall, and Toby Jones. The film is directed by J.A. Bayona from a screenplay by Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World director) and Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow executive produce the project. Plot details are unknown at this time.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to release on June 22, 2018.
Robert Downey Jr. shares Avengers: Infinity War set photo
Robert Downey Jr. recently took to twitter, sharing a photo from the set of Avengers: Infinity War featuring himself along with cast members Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo and Benedict Wong. A closer look at Downey’s wardrobe in the photo has fans speculating that the film may somehow reintroduce the arc reactor or possibly include flashback scenes. Other fans are hoping we’ll see this scene from the comics between Stark and Strange. The image was accompanied by the following caption:

The film is described as described by Marvel Studios as being culmination of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man(2008). Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: Civil War) are directing, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The confirmed and rumored cast is extensive and includes the following:
Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Benicio Del Toro, Sean Gunn, Benicio Del Toro, and Josh Brolin as Thanos. Possible but unconfirmed are Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Tessa Thompson, Cobie Smulders, and Chadwick Boseman. Furthermore the studio are reportedly considering Peter Dinklage for an undisclosed role. Evangeline Lilly will not appear in Infinity War, but is expected to appear in the follow up.
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Ron Howard to take over directing Han Solo film
Earlier this week it was announced by THR that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were let go from directing the Disney’s Han Solo anthology film due to creative differences in style and tone. Following the news it’s being reported that Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Willow) has been named as the new director and filming will resume next month.
Alden Ehrenreich (Stoker) starring as a young Han Solo, with Woody Harrelson (Zombieland, The Hunger Games) as Beckett, Donald Glover (Creed, The Martian) as Lando Calrissian, and Joonas Suotamo (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Chewbacca. Additional cast includes Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), and Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years a Slave, Robocop).
The untitled film has a scheduled release date of May 25, 2018.
Aquaman casting news
According to Deadline, actor Michael Beach (Patriots Day, The 100, Pitch) has been cast in the upcoming Aquaman film as “Jesse Kane, part of a group of high-seas hijackers who has a fateful interaction with Aquaman”, though fans are “fans have been speculating that Beach is taking on the role of father to Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta”.
The film is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring films, Furious 7). Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) stars, reprising his role from this November’s Justice League. The film also stars Amber Heard (Justice League, Magic Mike XXL) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Platoon, Spider-Man 2, Boondock Saints) as Vulko, Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II, Green Lantern) as Tom Curry, Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables films) as Nereus,Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Get Down) as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring films, Watchmen) as Orm/Ocean Master; and Nicole Kidman (The Hours, Eyes Wide Shut, Lion) as Atlanna.
Aquaman is the King of the Seven Seas. This reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt, is committed to protecting the entire globe.
Aquaman will splash it’s way into theatres on December 21, 2018.
New Blade Runner 2049 featurette
Ahead of it’s release this fall Warner Bros. Pictures have released new featurette titled “Time to Live” for Blade Runner 2049. The nearly 4 minute clip goes behind the scenes with Ridley Scott, Denis Villeneuve, Ryan Gosling, and Harrison Ford. The film is executive produced by Scott and succeeds the story and characters from the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. A sequel to Scott’s original Blade Runner (1982) film, Blade Runner 2049 is directed by Denis Villeneuve from a screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, The film stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto. They film synopsis reads:
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
Blade Runner 2049 will release theaters on October 6th, 2017.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets featurette
A new behind the scenes featurette titled “See you in space” has been released for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets . Written and directed by Luc Besson (The Professional, The Fifth Element, Lucy), the visually stunning sci-fi film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is based on the ground-breaking comic series from Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres. The film stars Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, John Goodman, Herbie Hancock, and Kris Wu. The official synopsis reads:
In the 28th century, Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are a team of special operatives charged with maintaining order throughout the human territories. Under assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two embark on a mission to the astonishing city of Alpha—an ever-expanding metropolis where species from all over the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence and cultures with each other. There is a mystery at the center of Alpha, a dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.

New War for the Planet of the Apes clip
Another new clip as well as a behind the scenes featurette has been released by 20th Century Fox for their upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes. The film is directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay co-written with Mark Bomback and stars Andy Serkis, Judy Greer, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller, and Terry Notary. The official plot synopsis:
Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
War for the Planet of the Apes will release on July 14th, 2017.
Spider-Man: Homecoming Aunt May and Flash Thompson clips
Sony seem hell bent on releasing the entire Spider-Man: Homecoming film ahead of it’s theatrical release, and several new spots have been unleashed and feature more new footage. As it’s impossible to keep up with them all, we’ve chosen to share only a couple. That being said, the early reviews for the film that have begun rolling in are genuinely positive. Actor Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who previously appeared in the role for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. Marisa Tomei will also reprise her role as Aunt May, and Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark/Iron Man will appear in the film as Peter’s mentor.
The film is directed by Jon Watts and in addition to Holland and Downey stars Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Angourie Rice as Betty Brant, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture, Michael Chernus as Phineas Mason/Tinkerer, and Bokeem Woodbine as Shocker. The film will also include new characters, most notably Peter’s classmate named Michelle portrayed by Zendaya. The synopsis:
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark. In related news THR are reporting that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man is unlikely to appear in any Spider-Man sequels.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theatres on July 7th, 2017.
