It’s “Adventure Time” LEGO Time as New LEGO Ideas sets announced

It’s that time of year again when LEGO Ideas announces It’s review results and this time we have a cult favourite coming to our shelves this year.

That’s right, LEGO have decided to go ahead with aBetterMonkey‘s brick-built Adventure Time figures.

They have a similar look to the original Minecraft sets, that LEGO produced through it’s Cussoo brand. LEGO Cussoo later became LEGO Ideas.

Given LEGO’s recent foray into Star Wars buildable figures I imagine this type of set was a perfect match up for the company, not to mention that Adventure Time is a great license to have on board.

You can see the protoype design for the Adventure Time figures in the lead image. However LEGO are keen to note it is a fan model and not the final product so things may change slightly before release. The proposed set would include the following character figures:

  • Finn with his sword
  • Jake
  • Princess Bubblegum
  • Lady Rainicorn
  • Marceline with her axe-bass
  • BMO with joysticks
  • the Ice King with ice lightings
  • Gunter
  • Lumpy Space Princess
  • Tree Trunks
  • Flame Princess
  • Ricardio
  • Earl of Lemongrab with his sword
  • the Lich with green flames
  • the snail

Also announced as the next model from LEGO Ideas is Carl Greatrix‘s Caterham Super Seven set – Classic British sport cars immortalized in LEGO.

Once again this a fan model and the final product may differ to what we see here.

In total nine projects went through the review and while I think the Adventure Time set was a great call, I personally would of loved to have seen the Indominous Rex set by senteosan become a relality. Im not a fan of the solid moulded figures LEGO has used for dinosaurs in the official Jurassic Park sets. When it comes to the proposed Indominous Rex set I really the dig the style and craftmanship of the rejected Indominous Rex set. You can view the rest of the review sets below:

The next lot of LEGO Ideas projects are already in review and we will find out the results of this review later this spring. You can view all of them below:

I’m hoping the Jurassic Park Jeep will make it through but given the fact that LEGO already carry a Jurassic Park line, I highly doubt that it will make it through. However if the Nautilus from Jules Verne’s “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” did make it through I would be ecstatic, it looks it would be a great weekend build.

What set would you like to make into reality? Let us know in the comments below.
