Iron Man joins superhero cast of the upcoming Spiderman: Homecoming film

We now know that one of the superheros joining Spider-Man in his upcoming film will be none other than Iron Man. The news that Robert Downey Jr. will be joining the cast of Spider-man: Homecoming was announced via Twitter.

Earlier in the week Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed we would see superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe appear in the upcoming Spider-Man from Marvel and Sony.

As we know from earlier trailers the new joint Marvel/Sony Spider-Man will debut in Captain America: Civil War and it is beleived that Iron Man mentors and develops his relationship with Spider-Man develop throughout the film. It is also highly speculated that it is Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who provides the young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) with his iconic superhero costume.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is expected to start production in June this year and Captain America: Civil War is in cinemas next week.
