History’s Vikings season 5 SDCC 2017 trailer
The first official trailer for season 5 of History’s Vikings was revealed at SDCC 2017 this weekend, which is scheduled for a fall premiere date. If the trailer is any indication of what’s to come, the new batch of episodes will see several characters dispersed all over the map on individual journeys, ultimately returning to Kattegat to fight an epic civil war that will determine a new ruler. Season 5 is expected to consist of 20 episodes.
The series stars Katheryn Winnick as Queen Lagertha, Gustaf Skarsgård as Floki, Clive Standen as Rollo, Alexander Ludwig as Prince Bjorn “Ironside”, Peter Franzén as King Harald “Finehair”, Jasper Pääkkönen as Halfdan “The Black”, Moe Dunford as King Aethelwulf, Alex Høgh Andersen as Prince Ivar “The Boneless”, Marco Ilsø as Prince Hvitserk, Jordan Patrick Smith as Prince Ubbe, Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Bishop Heahmund, Ferdia Walsh, Peelo as Prince Alfred “The Great”, Darren Cahil as Prince Aethelred, and Ryan Henson as Hali, among others.
History has revealed the following details for the upcoming season:
The new season begins with Ivar the Boneless asserting his leadership over the Great Heathen Army, while Lagertha reigns as Queen of Kattegat. Ivar’s murder of his brother Sigurd sets the stage for vicious battles to come as Ragnar’s sons plot their next moves after avenging their father’s death. Bjorn follows his destiny into the Mediterranean Sea and Floki who is suffering from the loss of his wife Helga, takes to the seas submitting himself to the will of the Gods.
