This article contains spoilers for anybody who isn’t caught up with the previous nine episodes of Game of Thrones season six.

The folks at HBO can’t help but to keep us hooked on everything Game of Thrones and to that end they have released six new images from the season six finale, The Winds of Winter. Given the format of previous Game of Thrones of seasons, the season finale is likely to be a more sombre and calmer episode focusing on the aftermath of episode nine, Battle of the Bastards, and tying up previous storylines exposed throughout the season.

In the first image we see a foreboding Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) who is undoubtedly confronting Melisandre the Red Priestess (Carice van Houten), following his discovery of the charred remains of a toy he carved for Stannis Baratheon’s daughter, Princess Shireen, in epidsode nine. It’s very likely Ser Davos has connected the dots and whole heartedly believes Melisandre had a hand in Shireen’s death.

Here we have our favourite warg, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), all safe and far beyond the wall following the events of “Hold the Door” where he was rescued by Coldhands. I strongly imagine we will see the Night King return, even briefly, in the season finale.

This image shows Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Walder Frey (David Bradley) most likely discussing the seige of Riverrun and the outcome of the Blackfish. We never actually saw the Blackfish’s death at the end of the seige and it’s highly possible he’s been taken hostage by Walder Frey.

Another one of Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) but this time attended by Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and a column of Lannister soldiers. Perhaps they are on the way to meet Walder Frey above, but it’s also a good guess they are heading back to King’s Landing to aid Cersei against the faith militant.

We can see the long imprisoned Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones) kneeling before the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) in the Sept of Balor surrounded by the faith militant and onlookers. The events of Loras’ attonement may have serious consequences in later seasons given Margaery Tyrell’s deception of the faith in earlier episodes.

In the final image we can see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) most likely discussing how to keep Slaver’s Bay in peace following her superior victory against the Masters in episode nine.

There are a lot of things to be answered in season six’s finale episode, but I’m most intrigued to find out what the Spider is up to following his departure from Mereen. How Petyr Baelish fits into everything now following his initial deception of Sansa Stark and his apparent retirbution by coming to her aid in the previous episode. And finally it’ll be good to find out what Brienne and Pod are up to following their escape from Riverrun.
