Telltale Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have finally released the first gameplay footage for the upcoming Batman – The Telltale Series. The first of the five part episodes, Episode 1: Realm of Shadows, will have a digital worldwide release of August 2nd, 2016. The game will be available on a variety of platforms upon release, including iOS, Android, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. The PC and Mac version will be available from the Telltale Game Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services.

The official synopsis from Telltales Games is as follows:

Enter the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne and discover the powerful and far-reaching consequences of your choices as the Dark Knight. In this gritty and violent new story from the award-winning creators of The Walking Dead – A Telltale Games Series, you’ll make discoveries that will shatter Bruce Wayne’s world, and the already fragile stability of a corrupt Gotham City.

Unlike most previous Batman game releases, the Telltale series will see you splitting time between Bruce Wayne and Batman, allowing you to explore both sides of the character. The choices you makes one role can impact what happens in the other. Telltale indicates the following about your choices for the series:

Decide the fate of Gotham City. Determine the fate of Bruce Wayne and his dark persona, Batman. Your choices write a fascinating new chapter in the complex and dangerous lives of the playboy industrialist and the vigilante detective.

The upcoming game is intended to look just like a living, breathing comic book, similar to Telltale’s previous releases The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead. The episodic game will feature Troy Baker as the voice of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle. Additional cast and characters will be announced as the season and episodes progress.
