The very first trailer for Marvel’s latest addition to the cinematic universe has arrived. The trailer for Doctor Strange was revealed by Benedict Cumberbatch on Jimmy Kimmel last night as part of his Civil War week. Team Captain America appeared on Jimmy Kimmel on the 11th, Doctor Strange on the 12th, Team Iron Man on the 13th, and Thor’s Chris Hemsworth on the 14th. Quite a fantastic week for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the trailer we see the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) seek out Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) following a car accident that left him unable to continue as the world renowned neurosurgeon he used to be. In his encounters with the Ancient One he is shown that there is more than just this reality. Following a mind-bending montage of time and space being distorted and warped, Stephen Strange tells the Ancient One to teach him everything she knows, which will ultimately lead to him becoming Doctor Strange. Watch for yourself below and let us know what you think of the stunning special effects when it comes to reality warping.

A bold and solemn poster for the film was also released earlier yesterday and bears considerable resemblance to the first teaser poster we saw for the Thor film all those years back. It’s definitely a striking image that we’ll remember as we wait fo the film to launch this Novemeber.
