Fantastic news, readers, news that excites us here at The Nerd Recites – all three of the original Crash Bandicoot games are to be remastered for the Playstation 4, ready to be released in 2017. Celebrating the 20th anniversary, Crash himself will return to consoles this year as a guest star in Skylanders Imaginators. The crash that we all remember and love will retain his unique personality as both a fully playable ‘Skylander Sensei, as well as a brand new toy.

Don’t miss this chance to own a wonderful figure of Crash

The news, first revealed during Sony’s press conference at this year’s E3 gaming expo explained that each of the first three games in the Crash series are to be fully remastered and released sometime next year.  So while the newer generation of gamers can experience this highly entertaining franchise for the first time, many of us will be reliving childhood memories as we play through: Crash Bandicoot; Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back; and Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. has stated “We can’t wait for gamers to see Crash bring his unique style and quirky personality to the epic battle against Kaos in Skylanders Imaginators. And next year, we’ll expand on the Crash experience for players with remastered versions of three classic games.

Crash’s appearance in Skylanders Imaginators will naturally include elements that have come to be associated with the iconic character, such as jumping on crates of TNT, and Crash’s trademark ‘wackiness’. Crash will be provided with a full set of moves and an upgrade tree centred around his signature spin attack. Fans of the character will also recognise various other callbacks such as the wumpa fruit, and exploding crates with the 3-2-1 countdowns. Fans will also be happy to learn that voice actor Jess Harnell will be reprising his role as the bonkers character.
