Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 details announced

Many of us have waited decades for a follow-up to Sam Raimi’s classic Evil Dead trilogy, and for the most part, Ash vs Evil Dead was well worth it. The hilariously bloody savagery of this seminal horror trilogy was freed from its feature-length constraints and given 2 seasons (and counting) of air time to fill with Bruce Campbell’s comically painfully yowls and biologically impossible amounts of spurting blood and body parts.

While only my third or fourth favorite horror film, the original Evil Dead probably has my all-time favorite horror atmosphere. Mixing a cozy Midwestern Autumn atmosphere with Lovecraftian dread and copious amounts of gore. Like if Texas Chainsaw Massacre had demons in it. Then came Evil Dead 2 which was more akin to a Three Stooges episode with cartoonishly over-the-top ultra violence. Finally, there was Army of Darkness which deviated even further from the first movie’s style by playing like a Ray Harryhausen stop-motion creature flick with Evil Dead 2’s sick sense of humor.

Then NOTHING for nearly twenty years until Ash vs Evil Dead was finally announced to the froth-mouthed rejoicing of millions of dedicated fans. Season 2 wrapped up late last year, and season 3 was announced about a week ago. Today, the air date for season 3 has finally been announced by STARZ along with some info about the plot. Apparently, our beloved badass buffoon, Ash, discovers he has an estranged daughter while a new deadite invasion once again threatens to engulf the world.

Season 3 has now been confirmed to begin airing on February 25, 2018 at 9PM. According to Deadline, the official synopsis reads as follows:

Ash’s status in Elk Grove, Michigan has changed from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet.
