Ahead of it’s release this summer, Marvel Studios and Sony have released the second trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film is a collaboration between the studios and stars actor Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who previously appeared in the role for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. Marisa Tomei will also reprise her role as Aunt May, and Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark/Iron Man will appear in the film as Peter’s mentor.

The new footage features plenty of impressive action sequences, as well as a comedy and drama, and furthermore shows new interactions between Peter/Spidey and Tony Stark/Iron Man. Vulture as the films villain is heavily featured as well, who has a bone to pick with Tony Stark. Additionally Peter’s friends, most notably Ned Leeds, are more prominent in the new footage. Not to mention some rad new features have been added to Spider-Man’s suit! This looks to be a solid installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the superhero film I’m most looking forward to this year. What do you think of the new footage? Check out the new trailer below:

Director Jon Watts is at the helm, and additional cast includes Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Angourie Rice as Betty Brant, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture, Michael Chernus as Phineas Mason/Tinkerer, and Bokeem Woodbine as Shocker. The film will also include new characters, most notably Peter’s classmate named Michelle portrayed by Zendaya.

The official synopsis  A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark. Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theatres on July 7th, 2017.
