Watch a sneak peek of Stephen King’s IT from director Andrés Muschietti
New Line Cinema have released a second trailer for their upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s IT that was revealed at the MTV Movie & TV Awards. The horror tale is expected to be a two part film, the first focusing on The Losers’ Club as kids and will be set in the town of Derry in the 1980’s. The story will follow the kids journey as they fight to defeat a malevolent entity. The second film will follow the same characters as adults returning to their hometown to face off against evil once again.
Directed byAndrés Muschietti (Mama) the film stars Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer, known collectively in the film as The Losers Club. Additionally, the film stars Bill Skarsgard (Allegiant, Netflix’s Hemlock Grove) as the story’s central villain, Pennywise.The official film synopsis:
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
The new footage takes a closer look at The Losers’ Club and also shows a creepy new clip of Pennywise.

The original made for tv film will admittedly be difficult top, as for many it remains one of the most terrifying horror films of all time. However the new footage offered via trailers so far looks genuinely terrifying and Muschietti’s adaptation looks to be promising.
It is set for theatrical release on September 8, 2017.
