Netflix unleashes official trailer for techno-paranoia anthology thriller Black Mirror
Season 3 of Charlie Brooker’s unnerving anthology series Black Mirror is due to hit Netflix in just a couple of weeks, and the streaming service has released an official trailer. The season will consist of six episodes, each telling an original story that explores the darker influence technology can have on human nature. The series is done in the spirit of it’s predecessors such as Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Outer Limits, Circle of Fear, Tales From The Darkside, and Tales From The Crypt.
Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us. The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.

According to EW, the episodes include a social satire where all interactions are ranked (“Nosedive”), a procedural crime story about online outrage (“Hated in the Nation”), a video game thriller (“Playtest”), a war story (“Men Against Fire”), a thriller about an online trap (“Shut Up and Dance”), and 1980s-set coming-of-age story (“San Junipero”).
The third season cast of impressive talent includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, James Norton, Cherry Jones, Wyatt Russell, Alex Lawther, Jerome Flynn, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Michael Kelly, Malachi Kirby, Kelly McDonald and Faye Marsay. Dan Trachtenberg will direct an episode of the sci-fi anthology, joining Joe Wright, Jakob Verbruggen and more.
Black Mirror season 3 will premiere on Netflix on October 21, 2016.
