Netflix launches full trailer for Marvel’s Luke Cage
Netflix and Marvel Television have just released a trailer for their highly anticipated original series Luke Cage. The series is based on the Marvel comic character of the same name, who was first introduced to television in season one of Jessica Jones. The series was announced shortly after Jessica Jones season one was released, with actor Mike Colter reprising his role.
The official synopsis reads as follows: After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Rosario Dawson, who plays Claire Temple on Daredevil and Jessica Jones, will be reprising her role for Luke Cage. Additionally, Erik LaRay Harvey will be portraying villain Diamondback, who is a comic character and is rumored to be the main antagonist of the series. It is also likely that the seires will introduce Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, played by actor Finn Jones. Iron Fist will have his own series for Netflix, which will debut in 2017.
The series will also star Theo Rossi as “Shades” Alvarez, Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Erik LaRay Harvey as Diamondback, Frank Whaley as Detective Rafael Scarfe and Simone Missick as Misty Knight. Cheo Hodari Coker (Southland, Almost Human) serves as executive producer and showrunner for the series.
All 13 episodes of Luke Cage will premiere on Netflix on September 30th.
