Marvel’s Doctor Strange gets a brand new trailer and poster at Comic-Con
Marvel released a brand new trailer for their upcoming Doctor Strange film at SDCC this weekend. Due out this fall, it is the second film to be released from Marvel’s Phase 3, following Captain America: Civil War. Director Scott Derrickson (Sinister) is at the helm, with Benedict Cumberbatch starring in the leading role as Doctor Stephen Strange. Unlike it’s predecessors, Doctor Strange is more an unconventional superhero film, being heavily grounded in magic and mysticism, and is expected to be the studio’s most sci-fi and mind bending film to date. Strange will likely play a significant role in upcoming films for Marvel phase 3 and 4, and will be included among the many heroes in the upcoming The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2.
The studio have released the following updated synopsis: Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.

In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch, the film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Rachel McAdams, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West. Additionally, Benedict Wong, Amy Landecker, Mads Mikkelsen, and Scott Adkins have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Doctor Strange will hit theaters on November 4th, 2016.
