LEGO’s Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum set is released today
With Marvel’s Doctor Strange movie not releasing until Novemeber it’s been remarkably quiet surrrounding details for the film, we’ve had a a trailer, but not much more. Fear not though, because LEGO has come to the rescue with their newest Super Heroes set, (76060) Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum set.
With LEGO’s newest set, which has been released today, we are granted a slight insight into some of the film. Not much insight, but it would be fair to say we see a hopefully epic battle with a portal beast and that Doctor Strange does indeed have his Sanctum Sanctorum in the film. There is also a slight hint (spoiler) on one of the letter’s on the table in the set. I won’t mention it to avoid a potential reveal, but you can view if for yourself in the image above.
Below you can find the official blurb for the set from LEGO:
Team up and expel the portal beast from Doctor Strange’s mysterious headquarters with some super-heroic supernatural action! Fend it off with Doctor Strange’s mystical artifacts, and evade being captured by the portal beast’s tentacles using the cape of levitation. Send in Karl Mordo to battle the beast with his quarterstaff, and help The Ancient One strike with the powerful magical fans at her fingertips!
The (76060) Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum set will have an rrp pf £29.99 and comes with three highly detailed minifigures. We actually have this set in hand and without a doubt these are some wonderful minifigures, they all feature metallic printed accents that really set the figures apart from your standard superhero sets.
On a whole the set is a vignette, (presumably) depicting a small scene from the film and in that aspect I’d say it was aimed more at the adult collector than it is for children. The set features a portal beast, which has rotating and twisting tentacles perfect for trapping one of the minifigures in. It also features numerous details including the two book sheleves, a chest, letters, maps and more all strewn across the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Accessories include Karl Mordo’s quarterstaff, The Ancient One’s magical fans, Doctor Strange’s cloak of levitation and magical power elements. Both the magical fans and magical power elements feature intricate metallic eldritch caligraphy. Finally the set comes with two levitation stands which are perfect for dynamically positioning the minifigures in this set.
The LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Doctor Stange’s Sanctum Sanctorum is available to purchase from today (August 1st) and we will likely have our review live on the site within the next day or so.
