With the hype machine running at 110% for the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Force awakens game we’ve just been gifted a new E3 trailer and downloadable demo from the demi-gods at TT Games and LEGO.

The downloadable demo is available from today for Playstation 4 players via the Playstation Store and will be available for Xbox One owners from tomorrow via the Xbox marketplace.

The LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens demo allows fans and newcomers to join Rey, Finn and BB-8 as they evade the First Order in their daring escape from the Niima Outpost on Jakku. Players can experience some of the new features coming in the game such as multi builds, blaster battles and piloting the Millenium Falcon.

In the above E3 trailer we get to see highlights of Rey’s heroic journey all doused with heavy amounts of LEGO humour and shenanigans. We’re shown a few of the new features (albeit very well cut into the trailer) coming in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, at several points we can see snippets of the new blaster battles that serve to recreate those classic hallway clashes that are so familar to the Star Wars universe. You’ll also see a few highlights of the new vehicle battles, namely the X-Wing missions in this trailer, look out for Poe Dameron’s X-Wing fighter which is coloured black and orange in the trailer (just like the actual LEGO set).

The last thing of note is all of the amazing and original voice work that the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens have done especially for this game, it certainly adds a tremendous amount of immersion to the game.

I’m certainly hyped for this game being both a major Star Wars and LEGO fan, and before we go here’s a fun fact I learnt from the TT Games panel at MCM Comic Con: All of the buildable models in the game have to be realistically buildable with actual LEGO in the real world, it is one of LEGO’s stipulations for the LEGO video games.
