HBO releases new trailer for sci-fi psychological thriller Westworld
Inspired by Michael Crichton’s film of the same name, HBO’s Westworld is a 10 episode sci-fi psychological thriller about a futuristic theme park populated by artificial beings. Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar, Memento, The Prestige, Person of Interest) serves as writer, director, and producer for the series, which is set to debut on the network this fall. The adaptation appears to be an entirely new take on the original story, told from the POV of the A.I. instead of the park visitors. The network have released two versions of the new trailer, a standard version and a mature version. Watch for yourself as the new footage delves into a mind-bending sci-fi meets period drama meets action-adventure, with elements of the philosophical and psychological.
Westworld is described by the network as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.”
