Powerful new trailer delivered for Marvel’s Iron Fist Netflix series

Following Marvel’s Luke Cage and ahead of The Defenders due out next year, the studio and Netflix are delivering an origin story for defender Iron Fist and the official trailer was revealed at New York Comic Con this weekend. The series will consist of 13 episodes and is due to hit the streaming service in March of next year.

The official synopsis is as follows: Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Actor Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) will portray Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist. Other cast members include Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones ) as Colleen Wing, who was teased in the season finale of Luke Cage – a woman with martial arts skills who becomes an ally of Danny Rand. Additionally, David Wenham (Lord of the Rings) as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup (The Following) and Tom Pelphrey (Banshee) will portray his children Joy and Ward Meachum. Previously appearing in Jessica Jones, actress Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise her role as as Jeryn Hogarth.

All 13 episodes will hit Netflix on March 17, 2017. Marvel’s The Defenders and The Punisher are also expected to arrive in 2017.
